National MS Society Award to LCMS Founders
Laps to Conquer M.S., Inc. (LCMS), founders, Fay & David Teal, received the National MS Society's Hall of Fame Award at their November 17 Annual Meeting & Awards luncheon.
The Greater Delaware Valley Chapter National MS Society's (NMSS) Hall of Fame Award is presented for outstanding fundraising achievement for research to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. Since 1989 LCMS has raised over $126,000 for the NMSS.
"We were humbled by the honor," said Fay Teal, LCMS Executive Director and MS patient. "What LCMS collected was all spare pocket change." Many Sports Car Club of America race drivers, crewmembers, race workers and friends of LCMS loyally contribute.
LCMS' annual drive had two other events that helped generate a $6,000 donation to the NMSS this year. First was the April 30 - May 8 Tire Rack One Lap of America. The team of Fay Teal, David Teal, and Ron Pizor drove the LCMS GM Mobility, Dominion Title Sunoco Buick Rainier to finish 5th in SUV Class, and 60th Overall of the 84 entrants-read the travel log online at www.lapstoconquerms.org. Then on August 20 - 22, Tri Region Race Group held the NESCCA Double National Races for Laps to Conquer MS at Pocono International Raceway.
New advances have been made in under-standing and treating it but MS still exists, so LCMS drives on to the checkered flag for MS. Best wishes to everyone.
We'll see you down the road!
